Michael Porter, Education Coordinator
Michael was hired by the Central PA Chamber in July 2017 and supports the organization’s Business and Education efforts.
He works closely with area businesses and schools to provide programming that will help students decide on their career paths. Through programs such as School Counts!, Building Leaders for the Susquehanna Valley, career fairs, legislative breakfasts, job shadowing, and the online training programs he hopes to help build a more “knowledge-ABLE workforce” for Central Pennsylvania.
Michael is originally a native of Kentucky, raised in Ashland and later moving to Georgetown and Lexington to complete his education. Before joining the Chamber, he worked for Whitaker Bank in Lexington.
He is a 2011 graduate of Paul Blazer High School, a 2015 graduate of Georgetown College, receiving his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Communication, and a 2017 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, receiving his Masters of Business Administration.
Michael lives in West Milton. He is also a huge supporter of the Kentucky Wildcats Basketball program and hopes to continue his support here.
He looks forward to getting to discover more about Pennsylvania as he develops more relationships and spends more time in the area.
