Retirement plans have long been thought to be a benefit only in the largest companies. They’ve traditionally been inaccessible to small businesses because of cost, difficulty to manage, and vendors unwilling to write “small plans.”
Nevertheless, there is a retirement crisis in America. Most employees of small businesses do not have access to retirement benefits, most workers in America do not have adequate savings, and ongoing fears about the reliability of the Social Security system continue.
