MONTANDON – Congratulations to the Central Susquehanna LPN Career Center, now headquartered at 15 Lawton Lane, Milton. The Central PA Chamber of Commerce – just across the road at 30 Lawton Lane – helped staff and supporters celebrate Wednesday evening, June 15, with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Officials of the CSLPNCC opened the building for tours, a chance to meet instructors and refreshments. Representatives of the parent organization, the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit (CSIU) at 90 Lawton Lane, also conducted committee and board meetings there later in the evening. Public open houses will be held in the future.

The building was formerly a CSIU annex for human resources and its business office. Following recent renovations, the CSLPNCC moved in at the beginning of the year, according to center director Dr. Timothy Campbell. The center now features a large classroom that can seat up to 90 people, a smaller classroom that holds 40, and an additional lab with room for 40. There are also simulation rooms, featuring layouts from Evangelical Community Hospital and Geisinger Medical Center, a homecare room, pediatric room and ER bay. The center also boasts some new high-tech equipment, an Anatomage Table, which provides a three-dimensional anatomy & physiology learning approach through virtual dissection.

“We have a very realistic presentation for teaching nursing students in our new facility,” Campbell said. “I’m just really happy to be here and welcome you all to come visit if you have time. We’d love to show our new space.”

CSLPNCC’s roots are from a LPN program the Danville Area School District started in 1967. It eventually relocated to Watsontown, Sunbury and most recently Lewisburg.
