About
Kelsey was a kind hearted young lady. While in the hospital fighting cancer, she cared and worried more about the other children dealing with their own medical problems, than her own. She always put others before herself. It was very upsetting to Kelsey when there would be children in the hospital with no one there sitting with them or visiting them. She felt so much for everyone. With everything she was facing in life, she always had a smile on her face. She loved when she could make that smile contagious. Kelsey always liked helping others in any way possible and brightening their day. Kelsey was in remission for 2-1/2 years. When she relapsed, the doctors recommended that they try a Bone Marrow Transplant. Kylie, Kelsey's little sister, was tested to see if she could be Kelsey's donor. Luckily, Kylie matched all 6 of Kelsey's antigens. From the help of Kylie's donation, she was able to give her sister two more years of life. Kelsey then passed away on November 1, 2005. Kylie kept her sister's spirit alive by creating Kelsey's Dream. She started out with little things that she thought would help the kids in the hospital, to keep their spirits up, like Kelsey had done. Kylie wanted to make a program in remembrance of Kelsey with things that would help children and help brighten their day. She thought back to the days when they would take Kelsey to the hospital for her appointments and how they would pack things for her to do to pass the time. Kylie wants to make every child's stay at the hospital a little bit brighter. She has added programs to Kelsey's Dream that all relate to Kelsey. Kylie is getting the word out about Kelsey's Dream by applying for grants, making great achievements and receiving awards.
