About
Our mission is to maintain the Cameron House, to preserve Milton history, and to provide information and education for the public.
William Penn Hastings, of the Milton Standard Printing Company, purchased a federal farmhouse along route 405 south of Milton in 1981. He called a town meeting to ask Milton’s citizens how best to use the property. Miltonians agreed the house should be used as the headquarters of a historical society. The existing West Branch Canal Society reformed to become the Milton Historical Society. The Society restored its headquarters, the Cameron House.
